Holly Willoughby recently posted an intriguing message about “embracing independence” on her Instagram, seemingly in response to speculation surrounding her former friend and co-star, Phillip Schofield, who may have criticised her in his new show, Cast Away.

In her Instagram Stories, the ex-This Morning presenter shared a post from her business venture, Wylde Moon. The message, inspired by the Hunter’s Supermoon in Aries, encouraged followers to pursue their passions and step into their personal power.

It read: “This powerful moon phase urges you to embrace your independence and take charge in areas where you’ve felt hesitant. Now is the time to focus on your desires and make your mark. Believe. Embrace. Surge.”

The cryptic post comes on the heels of reports that Schofield sent Willoughby a WhatsApp message blaming her for his declining TV career following the scandal that led to his exit from This Morning.

He reportedly expressed disbelief that his “TV sister” would contribute to his downfall.

Schofield left ITV amid controversy after admitting to an inappropriate relationship with a younger male staff member from This Morning, describing the experience as “the biggest grenade going off in your life.” He announced his resignation in May 2023, calling the affair “unwise but not illegal.”

Recently, Schofield made his return to television after a 16-month hiatus with a three-part series titled Cast Away on Channel 5, where he spent 10 days on a deserted island off the coast of Madagascar.

In a playful nod to Willoughby, he mimicked her signature “OK” greeting from their time on This Morning.

In her first appearance after Schofield’s departure, Holly addressed viewers with a message that began, “Firstly, are you OK?”

Meanwhile, during a barbecue with his wife and daughters, Schofield humorously asked if everyone was okay, which many interpreted as a veiled reference to Willoughby. Although she wasn’t named, it’s evident that the tension between the two remains palpable.
