Cara Delevingne says love “encapsulates everything about life.”
The words came during a promo video for Calvin Klein, where she opened up about the source of inspiration in her own life.
The video began with her describing love as the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful, with highs and lows. “It teaches you about yourself,” she said.
“Love, to me, encapsulates everything about life: the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful, the magnificent. Just the highs and the lows, I guess. It teaches you about yourself.”
The actress and model then said she is glad to have found the confidence to be her real self. That was not always easy as she admitted she used to feel scared and did not want to be who she really was. She now believes younger people today are more themselves and will not change for anyone.
“I think, what I didn’t have, at least, is younger people today are so much more who they are and they’re not going to change for anyone whereas I felt like I was always so scared or like I didn’t want to be who I really was.”
Delevingne said there is far more freedom now to be who you want to be. She added, “Of course there are still struggles and there is still so much to fight against but I get so inspired by people in the queer community.”
She said she also feels she can express herself through fashion. She said clothing is a clever way to make a statement. She described her style this way, “I don’t really care, slash I do really care, slash whatever I feel that day.”
