Ex-Rainbow singer Graham Bonnet has responded to accusations from his former band, Alcatrazz, claiming they are trying to “destroy” him.

Bonnet, 77, made the admission in a recent episode of the Stairway To Rock podcast.

During his appearance, Bonnet discussed praise for his live shows and the ongoing dispute with Alcatrazz, which he left in 2020 over management disagreements.

“They call themselves Alcatrazz,” Bonnet said. “The manager of the band is singing… and they’re saying I lip sync. They’re doing anything to try to destroy me.”

He shared a recent clip from his live album Lost In Hollywood Again, recorded at Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles in 2024, insisting that he performs fully live.

“You can see by this video there’s nothing there. I am live, I am singing,” he said, adding that fans have commented on how consistent his voice remains compared to his younger years.

Bonnet also criticised Alcatrazz’s current lineup, alleging pre-recorded performances by a keyboardist and poor singing from the band’s manager.

“If they’re saying I don’t sing, I can say this: the keyboard player can’t play, and the manager can’t sing,” he added.

Alcatrazz claimed earlier in 2024 that Bonnet had been lip-synching since 2017 due to vocal issues and substance abuse challenges.
