Missing You, Netflix’s latest thriller which is based on the work of best-selling author Harlan Coben, has recently taken viewers by storm online with its major flaws.
Released on New Year’s Day, the series follows the story of Katy Donovan, a woman who stumbles upon her long-lost partner on a dating app.
However, what bothered the audience was that she hasn’t seen him in 10 years. This twist has left viewers hooked, but not without bit of criticism for the dramatic plot.
Seemingly, it’s the first big release ever since the massive success of Fool Me Once, starring Michelle Keegan, and fans were eager to see what the new series had to offer.
Nick Hilton from The Independent gave the show a heartwarming review, awarding only two stars.
He shared: “Of course, nobody, at this point, watches a Harlan Coben adaptation for the gripping interpersonal chemistry. This is television for the shattered attention span.”
“Every few minutes there’s a new twist to trigger the dopamine receptors in your brain and try to keep you from doom scrolling on Instagram for another few minutes, until the next twist,” he added.
Moreover, fans came out to express their opinions and shared their thoughts.
One user wrote: “New Year, same me. Starting the day with a Netflix binge I think. See what #MissingYou has to offer.”
“Currently watching @HarlanCoben #MissingYou on Netflix … so far so good :D.” echoed another one.
While appreciating the storyline, someone shared: “Started this 2025 series and it is looking good already #Netflix #Missingyou.”
Moreover, Missing You series dropped on New Year’s Day, kicking off 2025 with a bang, as the highly anticipated thriller is already making waves on Netflix.
