Nick Jonas revealed how new music led to the Jonas Brothers’ iconic era.
In a recent interview with People Magazine, Nick revealed the reason behind reviving the iconic Jonas Brothers’ Burning Up era.
It is worth noting here that the first Burning Up tour took place nearly 2 decades ago, in 2008, in promotion of their album, A Little Bit Longer.
Now speaking with the outlet, Nick explained how the brothers found themselves drawn back to their early, iconic sound. Saying, “As we approached the new music process actually, we found that we were being really drawn to the sound of the early albums that we made, the self-titled album and A Little Bit Longer.”
He continued, “And specifically A Little Bit Longer, there were elements of our songwriting that were really coming back full circle. Obviously, we’ve all grown and we’ve gone through musical changes and evolution, but I think you always can tap back into those fundamentals and the DNA of who you are as songwriters.”
“And when we got in the room to write some of this music, we just found ourselves being really pulled back to that direction to that early pop punk emo sound —but done in a new way. And so as we looked at that, we also said, ‘What’s a show that we could bring back to life and also evolve and turn it into a new experience?’ And it all just made sense for it to be the Burning Up Tour All Over Again and for the new music to align with that,” Nick further revealed.
However, reflecting on their recreated outfits, which were designed by the stylist Sydney Lopez, Nick said, “a little bit of a tip of the cap, but didn’t go full costume.”
“She did a great job of threading that needle,” Nick acknowledged.
Further looking back at some of their past fashion style choices with a sense of humor, the singer shared, “And it was funny though, just looking back at some of the outfit choices of course, and thinking ‘Why was that what I was doing then?’ And that’s part of the fun of growing though is that you live and you learn, you discover who you are, what makes you who you are, and it’s all the things that you’re proud of and the ones that over time you kind of go, ‘Huh, that’s a bit of a head scratcher.’”
Reflecting on the excitement surrounding the tour, the pop star opened up, stating, “The fact that we’re able to bring that show all over the country now is going to be pretty special.”
“And it’s just a perfect timing type thing — an idea that inspired all of us and that really seemed to connect with the fans — and I’m thrilled with the response,” he further added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Jonas Brothers’ nationwide Burning Up Tour is set to begin on September 25, 2026.
