Post Malone set to headline the 2026 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony

Post Malone is to headline the closing ceremony for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On Wednesday, organisers announced that the Circles hitmaker will feature in the production, which will take place ahead of the final between Spain and Argentina at New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday.

In a statement, FIFA President Gianni Infantino promised viewers that the closing ceremony will “unite music, culture and football on the world’s biggest stage.”

“At a time when sport, culture and global attention converge, Post Malone will deliver a performance designed to celebrate the tournament’s journey and ignite the atmosphere before the world’s attention turns to the two finalists,” he praised.

“We are thrilled to have so many stars taking to the pitch, from both the football and entertainment worlds. The closing ceremony will set the tone for a historic FIFA World Cup final, uniting the passion of 48 teams, 16 host cities and millions of fans on one unforgettable stage,” the President gushed.

In addition to Post, the spectacle will feature performances from Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robbie Williams, as well as a special appearance by Tom Cruise.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson will sing the U.S. national anthem.

Previously, producers confirmed that Justin Bieber, Madonna, BTS, and Shakira will perform during the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin is “curating” the production, with conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS 22 Chorus also participating.

The Halftime Show will raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which will help to “improve access to quality education and football” for children around the world.
