Rita Wilson makes shocking revelation about her late dad’s long-kept secret
Rita Wilson has opened up about her late father’s secret family.
During her appearance at How to Fail with Elizabeth Day, Rita recalled learning that her late father had a wife and child.
While participating in Who Do You Think You Are? in 2012, Rita found out that her father had a family in his native Bulgaria before he moved to the US.
The actress said, “What they found with my dad was that his story was so shocking and unusual that they stuck with his story.”
However, she revealed that her late dad, Hassan Halilov Ibrahimoff lost his wife Alice during a childbirth of their son Emil, who also died of an infection four months after being born on December 26.
Rita admitted, “I still can’t get over that,” noting that her father “never said anything to us. I wish I could have talked to him about that.”
Furthermore, Rita Wilson also shared a weird thing, saying that her sister’s firstborn child was “born on Dec. 26. And I think of my dad, all of those years, celebrating all those birthdays, and knowing that he had a child born on Dec. 26, Emil, who passed away.”
“I think if we were all more open with each other, then we all can see that we’re all in the same boat,” Rita also noted.
It is pertinent to mention that Rita Wilson and her husband Tom Hanks are parents to kids: Colin, Elizabeth, Chet and Truman.
