The Boys is a gold mine for Prime Video. So, as the curtain is set to fall on the storied series, the streamer plans to give it a fitting farewell.
That’s why the show’s official account dropped a jaw-dropping poster, announcing the finale will head to cinemas a day early for a full-on 4DX experience before debuting on streamers.
The post’s caption read, “In two weeks, we’re going out with a bang. Literally, because you might vibrate watching the series finale in 4DX. Get your mitts on a seat with the purchase of a concession voucher, which is good towards sweets or soda the day of. See you May 19 at 9:30 p.m.”
The Boys finale will drop on May 19.
Antony Starr gets candid about the ‘Stranger Things’ finale
As The Boys is near its finale, Antony Starr, who portrays Homelander, in a recent interview, got candid about the finale of another hit series, Stranger Things.
Asked about whether his show’s finishing off will be similar to other series’ controversial endings, Starr added, “Has any show ever provided an ending that stratified everyone?”
“I don’t know that you can because everyone’s different and wants different things,” he noted.
By making a space, Starr took a swipe at the Netflix show, stating that its finale has not had enough deaths to prove it is a killer hit.
“Something just finished – I won’t say what – and nobody died. I was just scratching my head going, ‘There’s nowhere else to go; this is the end of the run. Kill some people!’
Given the example of Eric Kripke, creator of The Boys, Starr made a point about the emotional connection to the characters.
“As our boss Eric [Kripke] has said, don’t get attached to characters on the show because everyone’s head is potentially on the block.”
Starr’s remarks about the lack of death in the Stranger Things finale had been echoed earlier by some fans, who voiced dissatisfaction.
