Tina Fey makes bombshell confession about Tom Brady’s ‘SNL’ hosting after decades

Tina Fey has revealed why she thinks Tom Brady was the best fit to host Saturday Night Live (SNL).

For those unaware, Fey became part of the late-night live sketch comedy variety show as a writer in 1997 but in 2000, she appeared as a cast member on the show.

On April 18, Fey showed up at HISTORYTalks in Philadelphia, where she spoke to Damian Holbrook about her time when she worked with Brady.

Referring to the 48-year-old American football quarterback, who hosted an episode of the comedy show in 2005, the Mean Girls star said, “The thing about Tom and so many other athletes, we always would say at SNL that athletes make the best hosts because one, nothing is at stake for them, like they don’t care if it goes well, they’re not trying to get a movie out of it, two, they’re coachable.”

She went on to highlight another major difference that actors do not even pay heed to brutal criticism while sportsmen are really good at following command.

The renowned American actress and comedian explained, “You can go up to an athlete host and be like, ‘Yeah, do that faster.’ They’re like, ‘Yes, ma’am.’ You can’t go on to like an Oscar-winning film actor and say like, ‘[Be] faster.’”

Fey stated that athletes “understand that state of relaxed readiness” as well as they are “just kind of chill,” and these qualities help during a live show.

“In my mind, I’m Tom Brady,” Tina Fey concluded with a remark.
