Using Harsh Soaps: Don’t scrub away colors with harsh, alkaline soaps immediately. These strip your skin of natural oils and can cause intense dryness or rashes. Instead, use a gentle, soap-free cleanser or an oil-based makeup remover to slowly melt away the dyes.

Skipping Sunscreen: Many people forget that Holi is an outdoor festival played under the sun. Not applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen can lead to severe sunburns, especially since the pigments on your skin can actually intensify the UV rays’ harmful impact throughout the day.

Rubbing Skin Vigorously: It is tempting to scrub hard to remove stubborn colours, but vigorous rubbing damages the skin barrier. This irritation can cause long-term sensitivity. Be patient and use a gentle massage with cleansing oil to lift colours without damaging your skin.

Ignoring Moisturizer: Failing to moisturize before playing Holi is a big mistake. A thick layer of moisturizer or body oil creates a protective barrier between your skin and the harsh colours, making it significantly easier to wash off the dye later today.
