Dutch flag carrier KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced that it will continue suspending all flights to Dubai until June 28, amid ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East region.

The airline also confirmed that its services to Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia will remain suspended during the same period.

The move comes despite growing optimism over possible diplomatic progress between the United States and Iran. While reports suggest both sides may be moving closer to a new agreement, the aviation sector continues to remain cautious.

KLM’s latest decision is being viewed as another setback for the Middle East’s tourism and travel industry, especially during the busy summer travel season. Dubai, which serves as one of the world’s biggest international transit hubs, heavily depends on smooth global air connectivity for tourism and business travel.

Airlines across the world have been closely monitoring the regional situation, with several carriers either rerouting flights or temporarily suspending services due to safety concerns and operational uncertainty. KLM’s extension of the suspension signals that international airlines are still hesitant about fully restoring normal operations in the region.

The suspension is expected to impact passengers travelling between Europe and the Gulf, particularly those using Dubai as a connecting point for onward international journeys. Travellers with upcoming bookings are being advised to regularly check flight updates and contact the airline for rebooking or refund options.

Dubai remains one of the most popular destinations for Indian and international tourists alike, and any prolonged disruption in air services could affect tourism flows, hotel bookings, and business travel across the region.
