Italy is set to host its first-ever Tiramisu Run on October 11, 2026, in the historic city of Treviso. Unlike traditional races where runners receive medals at the finish line, participants in this unique event will be rewarded with a serving of fresh tiramisu. The event combines fitness, travel, and food culture, making it one of the most unusual races on the global running calendar.

The race will take place in Treviso, a picturesque city in northern Italy that is widely regarded as the birthplace of tiramisu. Located near Venice, Treviso is known for its canals, medieval architecture, Renaissance-era squares, and charming cobblestone streets. Its deep connection to the iconic dessert makes it the ideal destination for a race dedicated to tiramisu.

Participants will complete a 10.1-kilometre route winding through Treviso’s medieval centre, waterways, historic walls, and beautiful piazzas. Often nicknamed “Little Venice” because of its canals, the city offers runners a chance to explore one of Italy’s most underrated destinations while enjoying a leisurely race experience.

Unlike competitive marathons, the Tiramisu Run focuses on participation rather than speed. The event welcomes runners aged 16 and above, and participants can even walk the entire course if they wish. With registrations capped at 1,000 people, organisers are positioning it as an intimate and enjoyable experience rather than a high-pressure sporting competition.

Forget sports drinks and bananas. At the finish line, participants will receive a serving of freshly prepared tiramisu, the beloved Italian dessert made with mascarpone cheese, coffee-soaked ladyfingers, and cocoa. The reward reflects Treviso’s culinary heritage and gives runners a delicious reason to cross the finish line.

The event coincides with the annual Tiramisu World Cup, an international competition celebrating one of Italy’s most famous desserts. During the same weekend, Treviso transforms into a food-lover’s paradise with dessert-themed events, competitions, and culinary experiences that attract visitors from around the world.
