‘Avatar’ star Sam Worthington reflects on ‘twists and turns’ in ‘I Will Find You’

Sam Worthington recently admitted that his wife, Lara Worthington, pushed him to appear in Harlan Coben’s I Will Find You.

The 49-year-old Australian actor chatted with PEOPLE magazine to promote Netflix’s new Coben adaptation at the series premiere in New York City, saying his wife is the reason he said yes to David Burroughs’ role.

Sam told the outlet, “My wife liked Harlan’s series on Netflix. When I said he wanted to chat on the phone, she said, ‘Take the call.'”

The Avatar: Fire and Ash star, who shares three sons, Rocket Zot, Racer, and River, with Lara, revealed, “She watched it the other day. We got an early screening, so [she] and my son watched it until four in the morning. They binged them all.”

“After each episode, they were like, ‘All right, we figured it out.’ Then the next one, ‘All right, we were wrong, we figured it out.’ I think that’s part of the fun, trying to figure out the puzzle through all the twists and turns and cliffhangers,” he quipped.

For those unaware, I Will Find You is Coben’s first production in America, as twelve of his novels have been adapted into movies in the United Kingdom.

Sam Worthington’s role as David is a former law professor who serves a life sentence after being framed for murdering his son.

It is pertinent to mention that Netflix dropped all eight episodes of the crime drama miniseries I Will Find You on June 18, 2026.
