Despite being a lovey-dovey couple, Hilary Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma, also finds themselves in the middle of a brutal fight.
The Lizzie McGuire star opened up to Dakota Fanning for Interview’s story that she and her husband have same traits as any other couple but when she is particularly asked about it, the answer is never straight.
As Duff told Fanning, “Everyone’s like, ‘How is it working with your husband? Do you guys fight a lot?’ I’m like, ‘We literally never fight.”
One of the couple’s close friends endorsed her by saying, “Yeah, you guys never really fight,” but she emphasized that things do take a dark turn between her and Koma.
Duff clarified, “Well, that’s not true. We have one drag-out fight once a year. He actually brought it up the other day. He was like, ‘We haven’t had a fight in such a long time.’ I’m like, ‘Are you ready?”
Recalling their last fight, the star of A Cinderella Story unveiled that she threw Koma’s “phone in a Bougainvillea bush and it felt so good” and it happened “during the [January 2025] fires [in Los Angeles],” when they “had been displaced, we had all the f***ing kids, and we just needed to have it out.”
It is pertinent to mention that Duff, her husband Koma, and their four kids, son Luca Cruz Comrie and daughters Banks Violet, Mae James, and Townes Meadow, lived with Mandy Moore for some time after losing their home in Los Angeles fire.
