Kelly Clarkson focuses on kids during ‘painful’ first holidays after Brandon Blackstock’s death
Kelly Clarkson, is reportedly “heartbroken” for her kids, who celebrated their first December holidays in the absence of their late father, Brandon Blackstock.
As per a recent report by People, the singer and songwriter’s main focus was her kids this Christmas and she was fully “present” with them as losing their father was “incredibly painful and confusing” for her children, Remington, 9, and River, 11.
For those unversed, Brandon passed away in August at the age of 48 after battling cancer.
“Kelly is obviously heartbroken for her kids. Losing their dad is incredibly painful and confusing,” a source told the outlet.
“But she’s also very grounded. She’s not someone who falls apart. She looks at life realistically and does everything she can to make things as steady and loving as possible for her kids.”
The Kelly Clarkson Show host’s “focus is to be present for her kids,” the insider continued.
“She’s a great mom,” the bird chirped.
On August 7, a family representative broke the news of Brandon’s death in a statement, read, “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away.”
“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
