In The Devil Wears Prada, Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, was heading for a divorce from Stephen, portrayed by James Naughton.
However, now it has emerged that she is married again in the sequel.
And Kenneth Branagh, best known for Oppenheimer, is her new husband, as Stuart.
At the film’s premiere in York, he reflects on their bond, stating how well-prepared Streep was on set.
“Well, she was very, very prepared. She’s really, really rigorous about what she does.”
He adds, “But I think that what she didn’t make official, but what I took from her, was a sense of real joyfulness and play in the scenes.”
“So she knew everything. She was totally prepared, but then in the moment, she reacted to what happened and what you said and how you said it. So she was very prepared, but also very improvisational.”
Meryl Streep initially did not know Anna Wintour
Streep’s character Miranda Priestly has been loosely based on fashion icon Anna Wintour.
However, the Oscar-winning actress did not know her at the time of the first film.
“I didn’t know her at all because of my dissociation from fashion for the first movie,” she said on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen-hosted Front Row.
“I just wanted to create my own Miranda. I wanted to have it be my own thing, and ‘Who would I be if I were in charge?'”
Eventually, Streep said she “got to know her over the last 20 years”.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is in cinemas.
