Paris Jackson avoids her relationship with late father Michael Jackson
Paris Jackson recently reflected on her strange bond with her late father, Michael Jackson.
The 28-year-old American model, actress, and singer appeared on Jack Osbourne’s Trying Not to Die podcast, where she admitted that there was a time when she often felt she “owed it to people” to publicly discuss her relationship with the King of Pop.
Paris said, “There’s definitely a certain element where I felt I had to share everything. And that has drastically changed in the last few years, because I don’t really feel like any of us owe anyone anything.”
She went on to share that she no longer feels the urge to open up about the personal details of her father on social media, especially on Father’s Day, his death anniversary, and his birthday.
The Doctor Odyssey star explained, “I’m now learning I can have my own personal relationship and I’m allowed to be private about it and I’m now like, my relationship is the most beautiful relationship ever.”
“I’m in a very beautiful spot with my dad and I love that and it’s no one’s business and I don’t have to share that with anybody. And there’s a lot of freedom in that, which is really cool.”
“I’m not going to express my love in a copycat way, copying someone that didn’t know him. Because I did. That was my best friend,” Paris noted.
It is important to mention that Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50 on June 25, 2009, at his residence in Los Angeles, California. His cause of death was acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication, which caused cardiac arrest.
