Zoe Saldaña breaks her silence on Gen Alpha lingo

Zoe Saldaña is putting all her efforts into understanding Gen Alpha, especially their language that has drastically evolved.

Chatting with PEOPLE magazine, the 47-year-old American actress highlighted the things that stood out to her from 2025, confessing that the widely popular phrase “6-7” among Gen Alpha has been on her mind.

Saldaña was asked to share her favorite pop culture moment from the past year, to which she replied, “This whole 6-7 thing has been, oh God, an absolute anomaly. I am just so hyper-focused on this Gen Alpha lingo, and I’m gonna get it.”

The Avatar: Fire and Ash star has also started using the word “aura,” which refers to someone’s “it factor or effortless coolness.”

“But every time I think that I’m preserving my aura, that’s when I’m told that I lost it,” she stated.

For those unaware, the meme seems to have originated from the track Doot Doot (6-7), which was sung by Skrilla and has repeated lyrics, “6-7.”

Notably, this phrase is meaningless; however, the association of this rhythmic repetition with the NBA player LaMelo Ball, whose height is 6 feet, 7 inches, has made it popular worldwide.

It is pertinent to mention that Zoe Saldaña is also the mother of three Gen Alpha boys, Cy, Bowie and Zen, whom she welcomed with her husband, Marco Perego.
