In all of her recent fashion outings, Kangana Ranaut consistently reminds the fashion world that nothing matches the beauty of Indian handlooms. Sarees, to be specific.

Attending the high-profile Delhi screening of her film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata alongside Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, co-stars Girija Oak Godbole, Smita Tambe, Esha Dey, and the real-life healthcare heroes who inspired the project, the actress-politician opted for a look that was as culturally significant as the film itself. Channelling her inner Marathi mulgi in honour of her role as a dedicated staff nurse during the 26/11 attacks, Kangana chose to wear an exquisite, heritage Paithani saree.

Originating from the ancient town of Paithan in Maharashtra’s Sambhajinagar district—once a vibrant capital of the Deccan region—the Paithani is widely regarded as a symbol of prosperity, resilience, and unparalleled craftsmanship. The saree was washed in beautiful, luminous shades of gold and yellow with gorgeous gold borders that came alive with vibrant hand-woven peacock and delicate floral motifs.

To keep the look completely harmonised, Kangana expertly paired the six yards with a structured, half-sleeved gold silk blouse. The piece featured a classic round neckline, a contemporary cropped hem, a tailored fit, and elegant front button closures. On the jewellery front, the actress accessorised her look with an intricate kundan choker layered with pearls and fine gold detailing, alongside matching kundan earrings and a statement diamond ring. A sleek silver bracelet watch and gold strappy heels introduced a modern touch to the classic aesthetic.

Stepping away from her signature natural curls, her hair styling leaned heavily into vintage territory. Her tresses were sculpted into a center-parted, half-up hairdo accented with delicate crown braids that elegantly framed her face. A dusting of soft brown eyeshadow, flushed cheeks, glossy nude-pink lips and a dainty red bindi completed her gorgeous tribute to the artistry of Indian weavers.
