Kangana Ranaut, who was last seen on the big screen playing the role of Indira Gandhi in the 2025 political film Emergency, will be returning to the big screen this year. To promote her new film, the actor has been stepping out in one incredibly beautiful saree after another.

After donning a rich Paithani saree at a special premiere of her film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata in Delhi, the actor-turned-politician has now chosen a traditional weave from Gujarat for her stop in Jodhpur.

Kangana Ranaut wore a Patan Patola saree by the brand Frontier Raas. With sarees that range from Rs 55,000 to Rs 2,58,000, the actor’s outfit was a nod to the traditional artisanal weave that India has so much of.

She wore a lovely white saree with elements of red and designs meant to symbolise prosperity, good fortune, and luck. The 40-year-old actor wore it in a traditional Gujarati drape called the ‘Sidha Pallu’ or ‘Seedha Pallu’ drape. Unlike the standard Nivi drape where the pallu hangs over a lady’s left shoulder and flows down the back, this brings the pallu from the back over the right shoulder and spreads it across the chest. It also showcases the traditional designs of the saree.

Kangana Ranaut wore her hair in a slicked-back bun and added a string of jasmine flowers to complete the look. She added a chocker necklace from Amrapali Jewellers, along with oxidised jumkhas and a kada.

The Queen actor wore minimal makeup, opting to look fresh and dewy. The tinge of red lipstick and blush made the glam cohesive and a tiny black bindi completed the look.

What is Patan Patola?

A Patan Patola saree is a handwoven silk saree that originates from over 700 years ago from Patan in Gujarat. They were done by the Salvi community and were considered to be status symbols, and so were only worn by the aristocracy.

It is famous for its intricate double ikat technique, which makes the saree reversible, thereby enhancing its value. The fabric usually features symmetrical designs of flora and fauna. The sarees are known for their vibrant colours, and they are dyed using natural dyes.
