Two years after performing at the music festival, singer Sabrina Carpenter headlined on the first day and first week of Coachella.

Sabrina Carpenter was the headlining act on the first day of Coachella 2026. She performed for one and a half hours and had a SabrinaWood theme. With two new albums and a world tour under her belt, the singer returned to the desert after two years, after she made a very public promise, on stage, that she would be back at California’s biggest music festival as a headliner.

Since she made good on the promise. Sabrina Carpenter secured the top spot on the first day of the first weekend in the desert. And the singer went all out to create a memory that everyone attending the music festival won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

For her performance, the singer had 5 different and distinct looks, and she got a little help from Dior’s Jonathan Anderson.

For her first look, the singer popped on stage in a custom Dior ruby-red minidress. She wore the mini dress with a deep V-neck that was lined with black and had a drop-waist silhouette. She had added a belt to it and paired it with white Christian Louboutin Mary Jane heels, a type of shoe she has a particular love for.

A tiny hint that one might miss if you didn’t see her carefully is the glitter of her good luck charm: a silver anklet she’s worn everywhere from her Man’s Best Friend album cover to the Met Gala, reported Harper’s Bazaar.

Styled by stylist Jared Ellner, Sabrina then changed into a champagne micro dress. It featured long, billowy sleeves that was peak drama for her set. She paired it with Stuart Weitzman go-go boots.

For her third look, Sabrina Carpenter slipped into a cosy blue sweater and black sparkly micro-shorts that she then paired with black lace stockings. The singer also wore a white beaded bra and a matching fringe skirt that brought the drama, by Dior again. She ended the night and her performance on a highly sexy note, with a sheer black lace bodysuit and a massive cape that threatened to dwarf her petite frame.

Sabrina Carpenter brings surprise guests for Coachella 

During Sabrina Carpenter’s performance at Coachella, she was a barrel of surprises. She brought quite a few familiar faces on stage during the length of her act. She is known to do this during her previous live concerts, and it doesn’t look like the trend is changing any time soon.

In fact, fans of Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift were theorising that she would be returning the favour by bringing The Life Of A Showgirl singer on stage. This would’ve been the first time that Taylor Swift would play in the desert. However, that was not to be.

During her Short n’ Sweet tour, Sabrina had shone the spotlight on and done her viral arrests on celebs like Anne Hathaway, Nicole Kidman, Gigi Hadid, and Dakota and Elle Fanning, to name a few.

Throughout her set, Sabrina Carpenter filled the time between her tracks with videos on screen. The videos were a play on classic films such as Psycho and The Wizard of Oz. To start things off, she opened with a black-and-white Hitchcockian video, where she was pulled over by a police officer, played by Landman’s Sam Elliot. After escaping a grilling, she drove off to Coachella, reported Harper’s Bazaar.

Later on, Susan Sarandon surprised the crowd as an older version of Sabrina, who was reflecting back on her days as a pop star. Will Ferrell played an electrician, while actor Samuel L. Jackson acted as a spiritual guide. In fact, Sabrina Carpenter brought on her Girls Meets World co-star Corey Fogelmanis to play a waiter.
